Your daily ceiling is anchored to FDA guidelines and adjusted for your age and caffeine sensitivity.

  • Photo, barcode or voice

Caffeine per serving across coffee, tea, energy drinks and soda, so the 200 mg surprises stop being surprises.

How it works

  1. Set your limit and bedtime

Enter your age, sensitivity and target sleep time. The app sets a daily ceiling from FDA guidelines and works out your cutoff.

  2. Log what you drink

Search the library or capture it by photo, barcode or voice. Each entry drops onto your decay curve at the time you had it.

  3. Watch the curve

See live body caffeine fall through the day and check whether you're clear before bed — or whether one more is a bad idea.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Caffeine Tracker free?

Yes. The app is free to download and use, with no ads and no account required.

How does it know how much caffeine is still in my body?

It models caffeine decay from when you logged each drink. Caffeine has roughly a 5-hour half-life, so the app plots what remains as a curve rather than just totalling what you drank.

What is the "last safe coffee" cutoff?

It's the latest time you can have caffeine and still be low enough at bedtime for it not to interfere with sleep. It's calculated from your sleep target and your current levels, so it moves as your day does.

Why does the time I drank something matter so much?

Because caffeine leaves your system gradually. With a 5-hour half-life, a 3 PM cup can still be meaningfully present at midnight — the timing affects your sleep far more than the total does.

How is my daily limit set?

It starts from FDA guidance and is adjusted for your age and your self-reported caffeine sensitivity, so it isn't the same generic number for everyone.

Can I log drinks other than coffee?

Yes. The library covers coffee, tea, energy drinks, soda and more, each with caffeine content per serving.

Can I log from a photo or barcode?

Yes. You can log from a photo, a barcode scan or your voice. AI does the first pass and shows the result for you to review and correct before saving.

What if I log something at the wrong time?

Edit the entry's time and everything recalculates immediately — the decay curve, your current level and your cutoff all update.

Does it reward staying under the limit?

Yes. You build a streak, earn XP and unlock 44 achievements for staying under, with daily, weekly and monthly challenges that reward moderation and earlier cutoffs.

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

No account is ever required and your data stays on your device. AI photo, barcode and voice logging need a connection; the drink library and manual logging work offline.

Does Caffeine Tracker work on iPad?

Yes. It runs on both iPhone and iPad.

Is this medical advice?

No. Caffeine Tracker estimates caffeine levels from what you log using a standard half-life model — it isn't a medical device and can't account for everything that affects your individual metabolism. Treat it as a guide, not a diagnosis.

Know when to put the cup down.

Download Caffeine Tracker and stop guessing why you're awake at midnight.
